Many thanks to John O’Connor of the Museum of Totterdown & St Luke’s Community Heritage, 2024, who kindly forwarded two photographs of Charles Rose Perrett and his wife Mary Ann. (I regret to say one has disappeared into the webspace ether but I will add this in due course)
I blogged some time ago about Charles Rose Perrett and the Park named after him.
The first photo portrays Charles & Mary apparently quite early in their marriage. I was quite surprised that Charles looked so very different from the photo in my blog and the two compared clearly shows the ravages of the years:
The second photo (which I have mislaid) shows CHARLES & MARY as part of a wedding group, circa 1902.
The bride is alleged to be Elizabeth Pound, possibly a relative, but I’m unable to locate her with any certainty without knowing whether POUND is her maiden name or her married name, and if the wedding was in Bristol.
If you have any knowledge of Elizabeth, or where and when (exact year) the wedding took place, I would be grateful. Unfortunately, John does not recall who gave him the photographs.
